Hands-on Activities with 4 Great Apps

In this session, you'll have a chance to gain an in-depth understanding of 4 apps for the iPad. The apps that you'll explore are Comic Life, iMovie, Educreations, and Tiny Tap. You'll have a chance to learn about the basic features of each app. In addition you'll have a chance to create an instructional resource using the app. Upon completion of this session you'll feel comfortable using these apps as tools to create engaging instructional resources or as tools to assess students' understanding.

Other apps/TOOLS/TIPS

App: Keynote - $9.99
We used the iOS app for the presentation.

App: Random Name Selector - FREE
We used this iOS app to draw names. We used the free version, but there is also a pro version for $2.99.

Software: Reflector - $12.99
This is the software we used to wirelessly mirror our iPad during the presentation. This software is available for Mac or Windows.

Web site: GoSoapBox - FREE
Web-based clicker tool. We used this for our surveys.

Hardware: Lightning to VGA Adapter - $49.00

We used this to connect the projector to the iPad. If you have an older iPad, you'll need the 30-pin to VGA Adapter.

Tip: Save Web Site Icon to iPad Home Screen
We saved the GoSoapBox web site to the home screen of the iPad so it was easy to access. It looks just like an app icon.
