Gamify the Math Classroom

Looking for ways to engage students in the math classroom? Gamification might be a tool you can use to do this. In this session, you'll learn about ways to add game-based elements such as points, challenges, leaderboards, and badges to your math class.

  • TheFunTheory.com - Piano stairs and other videos with gamification elements.
  • The Pain Squad App - This app was created to gamify the process of collecting pain journals.

Tech Tools Used:
  • Seesaw - used to manage collecting challenge artifacts
  • Google Sheets - used to manage scores
  • Weebly - web site for the game
  • Canva - web-based, graphics tool - used to create graphics for the game (team logos, etc.)
  • Crazy Talk - software used to make characters speak
  • Flipgrid - used to share videos with students
  • Mashup Math Challenges - math challenges used for in-class challenges
  • Estimation180.com - math challenges used for in-class challenges
